Training with Military theme organized in Dr. Tr. Severin – period 20-22 September 2019

The second “Training with the military theme" was organized in Dr. Tr.Severin on September 20-22, 2019 in area of ​​the Medieval Fortress of Severin and consisted in the Reconstruction of some combat scenes, coordinated by the professionals of the movie house. “Stories with horses", an event that involved stuntmen and volunteers dressed in uniforms representative for that historical period – Dorobanti, line infantry, navy, turkish and Russians – equipped with period-specific weapons, war scenes, Turkish assaults, cannon fires, high quality military pyrotechnic effects.

The event took place over a period of three days in which the approximately 45 participants (including here 15 Romanian and 15 Bulgarian students) were trained by the representatives of the Association of Soldiery Tradition, being introduced to the historical atmosphere by presenting the military strategy used during the period 1877-1878, by the Romanian army in the War of Independence.

The students involved in the event repeated the scenario of the battle that consisted of:  military exercises to conquer a Turkish Redoubt, combat manoeuvres regarding the handling of cannons during the attacks, the close fight and the siege of the Redoubt with the help of wooden stairs. The highlight of the fight was the conquest of the Turkish Redoubt, the taking of hostages, and the capture of the flag and the Ottoman officer.

The third “Training with military theme" was organized in the City of Corabia  between 1-3 November 2019 in the premises of Sucidava Fortress and consisted in the Reconstruction of some combat sequences, coordinated by the professionals of the movie house “Stories with horses", an event that involved stuntmen and volunteers dressed in uniforms representative for that historical period – Dorobanti, line infantry, navy, turkish and Russians – equipped with period-specific weapons, war scenes, Turkish assaults, cannon fires, high quality military pyrotechnic effects.

The students involved in this event (15 romanian and 15 bulgarian students), during the three days of training, repeated the scenario of the fight, having as coaches the representatives of the Association of Soldiery Tradition in collaboration with the director and the team of the movie house “Stories with horses". Thus, on the first day they were divided into three camps representing the three armed forces: the Romanian army, the Russian army and the Ottoman Army, then they received all the information regarding the scenario that included the attack carried out by the Russian army on the Turkish Redoubt and its rejection, followed by the sequence of the request of the Romanian army’s aid by the Russian army and culminating in the conquest of the Turkish army by the two united armies.
